Hello! I don’t know what I’m doing!
I’ve wanted to make a blog for a while…there’s no activity I like better on a lazy morning than scrolling endlessly through blogs dedicated to hobbies or interests, and I certainly have a few of those. But the issue: I appear to be about ten (twenty?) years too late to the heyday of blogs! (And about twenty years too young, for that matter).
Better late than never?
Well, here’s a post to start me off:
One of the things I enjoy most is thrifting. A local place offers an annual monthlong rummage sale that’s usually a bit underwhelming, so when I showed up yesterday to the opening that’s what I expected. Ha!
I left with my arms full…
Let’s see how we add an image here. Hm.
Oh! I think that worked! Now why is my text centered? Ugh. Anyway, image one—a book that seemed rather interesting (although the back cover described it as being like if Henry David Thoreau were a young mother living in suburban Seattle, which is something I can’t say I’ve ever been particularly curious about…), some pastels to add to my piles, and a pony carrying case in rather decent condition. I’m trying very hard not to add to my collection of ponies, but, well, I never run across them in the wild, so I could hardly turn it down…
Lace! Lace! I love lace! I’d been looking for yellow lace secondhand for MONTHS so I was excited to find this (even if it’s not quite the bright shade I was hoping for…guess I still have to keep an eye out, hehe!). You can’t tell in the photo, but the upper right is a scarf that seems probably 1970s, perfect condition. Not sure what the material is though, it’s very thin but almost…rough?
Do I have a clue what I’m going to do with all these lovely handlerchiefs? No! Blowing my nose in them would seem practically rude….eh, I’ll figure out something.
Isn’t that walnut print fun? There’s enough to make a headband, and then just enough left over to be useless for anything else…eh, I’ll figure out something for that too.
I don’t have the patience for embroidering very detailed designs, but I always admire the handiwork of others!
Gonna stick a couple of these giant googly eyes on the fridge door!
It was $3 for the bag, so much cheaper than the creative reuse stores I’ve been to!
I didn’t inspect these much, because I knew they’d leave smudges all over my lovely outfit
Wait, uploading images didn’t work that time. Try again!
Oh, they want to upload at the start of the post and I don’t know how to fix that….well, I can always publish this entry and make a new post, I guess, lol!

Use the editing ribbon at the top of your post - pics will auto-centre, but you can move to the left side to left-justify. Once you have text, do a hard return/Enter, then add your photo - it should go where you want it to. I've been blogging with Blogger since 2008, pretty good at it, lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat finds you...found! The walnut pattern is fabulous!
